# Tencent Previews Hy4 and Hy4 Flash as WorkBuddy Expands Internationally

The enterprise-agent expansion is concrete, while the new models still need release dates, prices and evaluation details.

Tencent has previewed the general release of Hy4 and a lower-cost Hy4 Flash while expanding WorkBuddy for international enterprises. The models are still forthcoming. The announcement brings Tencent's office agent, model access and enterprise infrastructure into the same conversation, without yet providing enough detail for a new-model comparison.

## Hy4 and Hy4 Flash are not generally released yet

[Tencent's summit announcement](https://www.tencent.com/tencent-cloud-accelerates-international-growth-advances-enterprise-ai-and-expands-global-partnerships/), published on October 29, describes Hy4's general release as coming soon. Tencent promises visual understanding, better reasoning efficiency and stronger long-running task performance. Hy4 Flash is intended to offer visual and agent capabilities at lower cost.

There are no release dates, new-model prices or benchmark tables in that announcement. **A preview of a release is not API availability.** Developers should not infer a production model identifier from the names alone.

There is an older model to distinguish here. Tencent [released Hy4 preview on August 28](https://www.tencent.com/tencent-releases-and-open-sources-tencent-hy4-preview/), with open weights, 770 billion total parameters, 49 billion active parameters and a context window exceeding one million tokens. Those are specifications for Hy4 preview, not automatically for the forthcoming general release or Flash.

## What changed for WorkBuddy

Tencent says WorkBuddy is expanding for international enterprises, with connections to messaging applications and business systems, model selection and security controls. In China, Buddy One coordinates work across Tencent office applications and specialist agents. The announcement does not establish that Buddy One is available internationally.

Tencent also describes TokenHub as a single API for its models and third-party alternatives, with shared access, usage and billing management.

For an enterprise buyer, the important distinction is between model choice and workflow portability. A common API can make switching inference providers easier. It does not necessarily move an agent's permissions, integrations, stored state or operational procedures to another product.

Before committing a workflow, teams should test what happens when a tool call fails, when a document's permissions change, and when a human needs to take over. These checks tell them more about an office agent's usefulness than a model selector does.

## What to watch at the actual model release

Visual understanding could make Hy4 more useful for work involving screenshots, charts or interfaces. Whether it does so reliably needs task-specific evidence, not just the presence of an image input.

The same applies to long-running tasks. Finishing a multi-step workflow requires the model to keep track of progress, but the surrounding system must also handle retries, approvals and interruptions. Buyers should separate improvements in the model from improvements in the agent product when evaluating results.

Tencent's announcement gives teams a reason to examine its enterprise stack. The useful next milestone is a release that joins the model's price and measured capabilities to a workflow they can actually run.
