# Microsoft and NVIDIA Frontier Launchpad: Eligibility and Application Deadline

Applications are open for UK and Irish software companies, with support that connects AI development to the work of selling it.

Microsoft and NVIDIA opened Frontier Launchpad applications on November 3 for UK and Irish software companies building with AI. Applications close November 27, 2026, with the first cohort starting in early 2027. The programme combines technical help with commercial support, including Microsoft Marketplace preparation and co-selling guidance.

For a founder, the useful question is how closely that support matches the work already blocking the business. A better model integration and a clearer route to a buyer are separate problems, even when both sit inside the same product roadmap.

## Who can apply for Frontier Launchpad?

The [official announcement](https://ukstories.microsoft.com/features/microsoft-and-nvidia-launch-frontier-launchpad-to-boost-next-wave-of-ai-focused-software-firms-across-uk-ireland/) asks for an established software product already available to customers, investment in AI, and plans to reach more customers and new markets. It names two pathways: AI platforms and software, and financial services or fintech. Places are limited, with selection considering growth potential and clear AI plans.

The [application form](https://forms.cloud.microsoft/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=v4j5cvGGr0GRqy180BHbRyD2-JhazXRPtXTCnqz-AjBUQ05ONE0zTkdRUDg0Uk1CRFVESTVWTTBIWS4u) allows applicants to choose both tracks. It asks about the product, customers, revenue, funding history and current or planned use of Azure and NVIDIA technology. A pitch deck is optional. Consent to contact from a Microsoft representative is required to progress the application.

That makes a concrete product explanation more useful than a broad claim about being an AI company. Describe the customer problem, what the software does today and which technical or commercial constraint you want help removing.

## What support does the programme offer?

Microsoft lists access to AI specialists, cloud architects, Marketplace advisers and NVIDIA experts, alongside international commercial networks. NVIDIA's contribution includes expertise and training through Inception and its Deep Learning Institute. The announcement does not specify a cash grant, credit allocation or guaranteed customer contracts.

**The useful distinction is between access to a sales channel and a sale.** A team still needs to explain who buys its product, what changes for that customer and why the result justifies the cost. Programme support can help develop that work; it cannot replace the evidence behind it.

The application reflects this distinction. It separately asks about technical plans, desired partnership opportunities and whether the company needs help publishing on Microsoft Marketplace. Those answers should connect. If the requested engineering help produces a feature that no buyer is asking for, the commercial case is still unfinished.

## How it differs from last year's Agentic Launchpad

The [2025 Agentic Launchpad](https://ukstories.microsoft.com/features/microsoft-unveils-the-agentic-launchpad-with-nvidia-to-accelerate-the-next-wave-of-ai-innovation/) promoted agentic applications and GenAI platforms, with Microsoft, NVIDIA and WeTransact. It described credits through Microsoft programmes, marketing support and cohort events. Those earlier benefits should not be carried into the 2026 offer without confirmation.

The current form is a useful place to start because it exposes what applicants need to explain before a conversation. Prepare a concise description of the product, evidence of customer use and a specific reason the Microsoft or NVIDIA ecosystem matters to the next stage of development.

For technical founders, the longer-term opportunity is making product development and distribution inform each other. A customer conversation can reveal which integration deserves engineering time. A clear technical demonstration can make that same conversation much easier to begin.

I help technical founders turn product thinking and technical work into clear stories that support founder-led distribution.
