50K website visits, 150 GitHub stars: how one video helped a solo developer
One video brought Fariz more than views. It brought users, GitHub stars, and people who wanted to help build his product.

A few days back, I created a video on a WebApp created by a guy named “Fariz” on X and to my surprise it went viral on every platform I posted on, Instagram Reels, YT Shorts etc and collectively it got me about ~300k views combined.
Now for those who don’t know, I have been creating vertical content for AI Devs, Founders on Instagram, Youtube and LinkedIn from past 4 years and have around ~250k followers.
Since the video did well, I was curious and wanted to understand the impact it created so I reached out to the guy on twitter and requested him to share the metrics.
Now before we go to the metrics, its important to understand what Fariz made and what did his app do?
So basically, the app is called Fixtral and it automatically takes Photoshop requests from a particular SubReddit called r/photoshop, understands what edit is needed using an LLM, and then generates the edited image with a custom image model (Nano Banana). In short: it’s an AI that auto-responds to image edit requests with the final result. For more details, watch the video to understand on how it works and the use cases.
The results Fariz reported
- 50k+ website visits in the just 2 days!
- 380+ successful signups and approximately 500 failed signup attempts due to email verification problems.
- 150+ stars and 50+ fork requests on his Github Repository
- Twitter Followers grew from 10 to 100+ in 2 days
- Got 5–10 Connection request every hour on Linkedin
- Was reached out by several VC’s and folks at FAANG
- Started a chain effect with several other creators making a video on his app all by itself “Influencer feeling, TBH!” Fariz said.

Well as crazy as it sounds, it shows that how a single video holds so much power that it can change someone’s life very drastically. On a personal note, I am grateful that I could contribute to someone’s life in a good way.
